SIA 2013: Mid-Snowshow Update
The sky is clear and the stars are bright above our show base in the western foothills above Denver. The last two days at the Snowsports Industry America (SIA) 2013 Snowshow have been fast-paced and exciting. We have had the chance to visit with numerous industry professionals and check out new and inventive products from established brands and startups that will be hitting retailers this coming season.
Over the course of the show, we have been amazed by the creativity and artistry that companies are bringing to the world of snow sports. It has been encouraging to witness manufacturers utilizing the talent of artists and designers in creating a new wave of style due to hit the slopes next season. Innovative products will be coming to market that will make trips into the terrain park and the backcountry safer for skiers and riders. New boards and skis are set to improve mountain performance and are being sourced using sustainable methods. Though slightly overwhelming, we are taking it all in to the best of our abilities.
We are itching to return to the mountains and slightly disappointed to be missing turns in the fresh pow from this week’s storm, however, we have been taking the time to take a close look at these new products and fresh steeze. In our last day at the exhibition tomorrow, we will be gathering as much beta as possible so we can share it with the snowblooded community in the coming days and weeks. We are especially interested in gear that is novel and original. We intend to pay special attention to brands and companies that are small, new, or growing often overlooked by the media that covers our industry.
To our peeps, who have had a chance to ride this last storm, flow safe and make a few turns for us. We’ll see you back in the mountains very soon.
